PATIENT RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
The rights and responsibilities of the patients can’t be compromised due to their vital importance. Hence, we respect the rights of our patients and their relatives who wish to benefit from our health services.
Based on our awareness to patients’ rights, we have presented the following rights which are inspired by the Turkish Ministry of Health. The purpose is to keep the patients informed about their rights and responsibilities that they must fulfill while having our medical service.
Patient rights
Patient rights aim to protect human health and provide high-quality health services.
1- ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE SERVICE
For each patient who has been accepted to get treatment within our healthcare network, he/she has the right to use all services without discrimination in language, religion, race or sect. He/she has the right to equally benefit from the preventive and curative health services necessary for a healthy life.
2. REQUEST MEDICAL INFORMATION
The patients have the right to receive information about their general health and the current provided healthcare and how to benefit from it, and to check and obtain documents related to patients and their diseases.
3- ACCEPTANCE & APPROVAL
Our patients have the right to accept, refuse or request a hold to any service after being adequately informed.
4. CHANGE HEALTHCARE AND PERSONNEL
The patients have the right to choose and change the method of diagnosis and treatment that will be used if possible, in addition to requesting change of doctors, nurses and other medical personnel responsible for their treatment.
5. PRIVACY RIGHTS
The patients have the right to maintain confidentiality of their personal information, health condition, Processes of diagnosis and treatment, and their private visits be kept confidential.
6- RESPECT RIGHTS
The patients have the right to get their healthcare services in a friendly, kind and compassionate approach in a clean and contemporary environment.
7. Fulfilling Religious obligations
Our patients have the right to fulfill their religious obligations within the limits of the possibilities available in the healthcare facility as long as it does not impede the treatment.
8. VISIT RIGHTS
The patients have the right to receive visitors and have escorts in accordance with the procedures and principles set by the health facility.
9- MAINTAIN SAFETY
The patients have the right to protect their lives, safety and protection from healthcare risks and medical errors.
10. HAVING CONSULTATION AND SECOND EXAMINATION.
The patients have the right to obtain a second view about their health from another doctor of the same specialty other than the doctor who is treating them, or to request a consultation from another doctor of different specialty.
11- SUBMIT COMPLAINTS & OFFERING OPINIONS AND SUGGESTIONS
The patients have the right to file a complaint in case of neglections in their rights and to have the results of the complaint after reviewing in the hospital.
* For security reasons, Camera footage is being filmed in public areas in our hospitals. However, this precaution does not apply in areas requiring privacy such as the patient and doctor’s room *
Patient Responsibilities
Patient responsibilities are the duties and obligations a patient must fulfill before and after applying for treatment in our healthcare network.
1. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The patients pledge to do their utmost to take care of their health and to follow the given advices to maintain a healthy life.
2. SOCIAL SECURITY CASE
The patients are responsible for reporting changes in their health situation, social security and personal information in timely manner.
3. KEEPING HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS INFORMED
The patients are responsible for disclosing their complaints, past illnesses, whether they have received any clinical treatment, if any, in addition to the medications they are currently using and all information related to their health.
4. COMPLYING TO HOSPITAL RULES
The patients are responsible to comply with the rules and practices of the healthcare institution to which they apply.
The patients are responsible for the payment of treatment and examination costs
When a patient has an appointment to benefit from the services of a health facility, he is responsible for adhering to the date and time of the appointment and informing relevant persons of any changes.
The patients have to show respects the rights of medical staff, other patients and visitors.
The patients will be responsible for any damage in medical supplies happen due to misuse.
5- COMPLIANCE WITH TREATMENT RECOMMENDATIONS
The patients have the responsibility to listen carefully to treatment advices and medication, and to ask for advice about the points they cannot understand.
The patients are responsible to inform healthcare professional if there is a situation in which he/she cannot comply with recommendations regarding treatment.
The patients are responsible about whether they have correctly understood the healthcare plan after discharge from hospital as expected.
Our patients are responsible for the consequences of rejecting treatment or not following doctor’s recommendations.
